


Stopping Violence Services Wairarapa Incorporated has been in operation in the Wairarapa region of New Zealand since 1986 and was originally established as Men Against Violence.
SVSW is affiliated to the National Network of Stopping Violence Services, Te Kupenga Whakaoti Mahi Patunga, and has strong links to the National Collective of Independent Women's Refuges.
Services are available from the organisation's offices at Level 3, 31 Chapel Street, Masterton, and are provided for both groups and individuals, using essentially the same specialised programme.
In addition, SVSW provides community education, development, liaison and training in Stopping Violence work.
The Domestic Violence Act was made to protect people in many different relationships, including; married couples, unmarried couples, gay and lesbian couples, children, family/whanau, anyone in a close personal relationship, flatmates or other people who share accommodation.
